The Belgian government has announced a B4 mandate that will begin in July 2009.
The bill, which is yet to be passed, will include the B4 mandate as an initial step in adapting infrastructure before higher blends are mandated.

Biodiesel supplier Canadian Bioenergy and crop-processing giant Archer Daniels Midland are carrying out a joint feasibility study that could see Canada's largest canola biodiesel plant built in Alberta.

Operations have begun at Acciona Biocombustibles biodiesel plant in the Port of Bilbao at a cost of €25 million.
