Renewable Energy Group announces new CEO

Major US biofuel producer Renewable Energy Group (REG) has announced Cynthia CJ Warner as the company’s new president and chief executive officer.

Warner's appointment was made by the company’s Board of Directors. She will take on the president and CEO positions effective 14 January 2019.

Her predecessor, Randy Howard, who has served as president and CEO since July 2017, will remain on the board and assist in the transition.

The search for REG’s new CEO was led by Caldwell Partners of John Strackhouse, Bethany George and Rachel Sharp.

Warner has 35 years experience in the energy industry, having worked in senior roles at Sapphire Energy, BP, and most recently Andeavor (formerly Tesoro Corporation). She is a member of the Board of Directors for IDEX Corporation, and serves as a member of the US National Petroleum Council.

“I am delighted and honoured to be joining the REG team as President and CEO,” said Warner, in an REG statement.

“This growing company is well positioned to meet the rising global demand ofr cleaner, competitive low carbon fuel solutions. I look forward to the exciting future ahead and to leading the team with a continued focus on value creation.”
