Nebraska Ethanol Board joins US Grains Council

The US Grains Council (USGC) has welcomed Nebraska Ethanol Board as its newest member.

The Nebraska Ethanol Board serves 25 ethanol plants with a combined total capacity of over 2.5 billion gallons of ethanol.

The organisation advocates for biofuels by informing the public and civic leaders about the benefits of the cleaner burning fuel, working to ensure biofuels and co-products play an increased role in fuelling the world’s markets.

In addition to building consumer support for biofuels and guiding public policy, the Nebraska Ethanol Board helps market growth through targeted strategies and programmes.

Earlier in February, the USGC recognised employee Egna Rodriguez for 10 years of service with the organisation.

“I’m very grateful for the Council’s teamwork environment,” Rodriguez said. “Whether the CEO, vice-president, director, manager or coordinator, anyone can step in and do a task to help out at any time. Everybody puts their efforts together, and that’s why we succeed.”

Since joining as an administrative assistant, Rodriguez was promoted to regional programs manager in 2015 and became involved in budgeting, meeting itineraries, implementation and logistics.

“Everyone who has met or worked with Egna always has glowing reviews, especially citing her attention to detail, friendly attitude and willingness to help out where needed,” added Marri Tejada, USGC regional director for Latin America. “She’s had many nicknames over the years, but the ‘enforcer’ is my favourite. Tagged by a USGC member, it’s a great example of care and knowledge that she puts into everything she does for the Council.”
