US-based sustainable aviation fuel producer LanzaJet has secured at least $20 million (€17.7 million) in new financing to support the expansion of its alcohol-to-jet fuel technology and accelerate commercial SAF production.
The funding will be used to scale operations and strengthen the company's position in a market facing rapidly growing demand from airlines and regulators.
The announcement comes as governments worldwide introduce SAF mandates and incentives aimed at reducing aviation emissions. LanzaJet's technology converts ethanol into jet fuel, providing an alternative pathway to conventional feedstock routes and helping to diversify global SAF supply.
Industry analysts expect demand for SAF to increase sharply over the next decade, making investment in new production technologies increasingly important for meeting decarbonisation targets.
