First commercial plant to be built in Teesside unlocking pathway for SAF

Nova Pangaea Technologies has signed an agreement with Sembcorp Energy UK to build a new commercial plant - NOVAONE.
NOVAONE will be the UK’s first second generation bioethanol facility with construction expected to begin early next year.
The UK’s recently announced Jet Zero strategy, where bioethanol is converted to SAF, requires five commercial plants to be in construction by 2025 to decarbonise 10% of all domestic flights by 2030.
The creation of this facility will begin to meet the urgent needs of decarbonising the transport sector, including aviation, and agricultural sectors.

Nova Pangaea recently announced the signing of a joint development agreement with British Airways and LanzaJet to accelerate the UK’s flagship SAF and carbon removal initiative Project Speedbird.
