AP Moller-Maersk’s towing subsidiary Svitzer has revealed that following a successful pilot, it will convert its fleet of 10 tugs along the Thames in the UK to be powered by marine biofuel.
Replacing marine fuel oil with the carbon neutral biofuel in London and Medway enables Svitzer to offer a new towage solution – Ecotow – to its customers.

Shell plans to build a biofuels plant in Singapore to help the company meet its target of halving emissions by 2030.

Arbor Renewable Gas has selected a 53-acre site for its first renewable biofuel plant.
The Spindletop Plant is located in Beaumont, Texas, and was selected for its access to critical infrastructure and feedstock.
