ICM and Hereford Renewable Energy strike deal

In the US Colwich, Kansas-headquartered ICM has signed a contract with Hereford Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of Murphy Oil, to retrofit an ethanol plant located near Hereford in Texas.

Expected to be complete by Q2 2011, Hereford Renewable Energy is hoping that retrofitting the plant before start-up will enable the company to capitalise on the improved operating efficiencies.

The contract will see ICM make various modifications to the unfinished refinery, in addition to installing new equipment.

‘ICM is excited for the opportunity to continue its work with Murphy to help its Hereford ethanol plant overcome the challenges that prevented the prior owner from starting up the plant at completion of initial construction,’ ICM’s president and CEO Dave Vander Griend said.
