Flex-fuel friendly station opens for business

Built in a busy location in lake Wales, Florida, US, the Circle K fuelling station of 1349 Hwy 60 East opened its first E85 pump on 20 May this year.

Established within the fuels industry, Mid-State Energy owns the property and lets it to Circle K. As well as being Circle K’s first filling station to provide E85 fuel, it is also the first E85 station for Mid-State Energy.

After adopting energy marketing and trading company Protec Fuel’s E85 fuel programme, which saw the installation of an E85 filling pump, Cirlce K now sells petrol blended with 85% ethanol.

Located on Hwy 60, connecting Florida’s west coast to its east coast, including Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, Cirlce K’s filling station will now provide Sunoco’s transport fuel to an increasing number of flex-fuel drivers passing through one of the busiest streets in the area.

Circle K is now one of approximately 2,300 filling stations across the US selling an E85 blend to over 8 million drivers of flex-fuel vehicles.

Speaking about the new E85 pump, Mid-State Energy’s president Ken Allen Jr. said: ‘We anticipate to offer a biodiesel product in the near future at this location as well as additional E85 stations which will allow more people to join the movement to a cleaner renewable fuel.’
