Coal mining company to invest $239 million in ethanol plant

Indonesia Sekawan Intipratama, a company predominantly involved in the coal mining industry, plans to invest $239 million (€181 million) in an ethanol plant in East Kalimantan province in 2015.

Swiss-based ProCone will provide technology for the facility, which aims to produce 60,000 metric tonne per year of ethanol, using coal as its feedstock.

The plant is expected to reach completion in December 2016.
