Conor Madigan, CEO of sustainable fuels technology leader, Aether Fuels, speaks to Biofuels International about Project Beacon, which is the company’s commercial demonstration initiative designed to advance sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production using its proprietary Aether Aurora™ technology. Project Beacon, located in Singapore, will produce up to 50 barrels per day (about 2,000 tons per year) of SAF and naphtha, marking a major step toward large scale, next generation fuel production. Although Aether Fuels operates in both the United States and Singapore, Project Beacon itself is being executed in partnership with Aster at the Pulau Bukom refining hub. Construction begins this year, with commercial operations targeted for 2028. The project is supported by new leadership appointments and $15 million (€12.7 million) in additional funding, strengthening Aether’s ability to scale sustainable fuels globally.
