Gevo’s sustainable aviation fuel to support trade show in Las Vegas, US

Renewable fuel manufacturer Gevo has supplied sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to support carbon neutrality goals in the aviation industry.

The company’s customer and fuel suppliers, Avfuel, has partnered with Avflight Salina at Salina Regional Airport and Henderson Executive Airport to provide SAF for aircraft flying to the Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (BACE) in Las Vegas, Nevada in the US.

From 17 October, Avfuel will supply a blend of Gevo’s SAF to Avflight to fuel operators en route to the exhibition in Las Vegas. Avfuel has agreements in place with manufacturers including Embraer, Textron Aviation and Dassault to fuel flights to the event with SAF.

“Avfuel is doing a great job with these demonstrations,” commented Patrick Gruber, CEO of Gevo. “They are important because they show the viability of SAF, express to corporations that they have a choice when flying their corporate jets as well as educates other fixed based operators what is possible in what they provide their customers.”

Made from corn starch, for every one million gallons of Gevo’s SAF that is produced, around 10 million pounds of animal feed and protein is sold into the food chain. The final fuel burns cleaner, reducing carbon emissions from aviation.
