In the US the Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009, or H.R. 1105, has been signed into law, pumping millions into biofuels projects.
The $410 billion (€315 billion) legislative package contains appropriations bills that were not completed in the 110th congress.
Biofuel projects in Michigan, Minnesota and Louisiana will receive funding under the legislation.

A landfill in Knox County, Illinois, is on the verge of signing a contract with ethanol company Big River Resources to build a plant onsite.
