Solar, Wind, and Biofuels Markets Rise by 31%

The combined global revenue for solar PV, wind power, and biofuels rose by 31% in 2011, according to the Clean Edge Annual Report. The report showed that revenue grew from $188.1 billion (€142.9 billion) in 2010 to $246.1 billion (186.96 billion) in 2011.

The report saw biofuels reach record revenue of $83 billion (63.07 billion) in 2011, but suggested that this was due to the increased ethanol and biodiesel prices, which came as a result of higher feedstock costs.
