Repsol supplies 100% renewable diesel at three forcourts
The company has now become the first Spanish company to dispense 100% renewable fuel in the Iberian Peninsula.
The service stations to offer these zero net emissions fuels are located in Mercamadrid, Madrid, Esparraguer, Barcelona, and Alcochete, Lisbon region.
All three already supply renewable diesel produced from organic waste to professional customers, who have agreements with Repsol, and it will soon be made available to all customers.
The multi-energy company has an ambitious expansion plan to cover the main transport corridors of the Iberian Peninsula. It will have 50 service stations selling 100% renewable fuel by the end of this year.
Repsol's customer general manager Valero Marín said: "This launch exemplifies, once again, our commitment to the decarbonisation of transport that we want to involve our customers in. At Repsol, we continue to take decisive steps to lead the commitment to renewable fuels in the Iberian Peninsula.”
Since July 2022, Repsol has supplied 100% renewable diesel to professional customers in the goods transport sector, as well as companies in the collective transport of people and professional machinery.
In motorsports, Repsol is developing renewable fuels for the Repsol Honda MotoGP team to meet the mandate to use 40% renewable fuel from 2024 and 100% by 2027.
The company has already supplied renewable fuel to major competitions such as the Dakar Rally, where Isidre Esteve managed to complete the entire rally with 75% renewable fuel, and the French Formula 4, the first single-seater competition to use 100% renewable fuel.
