Hallands Hamnar strengthens its position in the biofuels sector
Hallands Hamnar has signed a strategic agreement with the German company Bruening Group for the handling of biofuels - a segment with strong growth potential.
The agreement means that Bruening Group will establish operations in the Varberg port area through a long-term lease. The partnership is seen as an initial step, in Hallands Hamnar’s long-term ambition to develop a hub for biofuels in Halland and meet the increasing demand from the energy sector.
The biofuels handled in this partnership come from residual products after forestry operations, wood industry by-products, and wood waste.
Bruening Group will establish its operations in Varberg at the beginning of 2025. The designated terminal area and quay access in Varberg create optimal conditions for growth in the biofuel segment.
The geographic location and professional collaboration with Hallands Hamnar meet all the criteria Bruening Group has been looking for.
