Grupo Ypioca ups ethanol production
The Jaguaruana factory has installed capacity to produce 50 million litres of ethanol a year, or 90 million litres of the sugarcane derivative cachaca, making it the world's largest manufacturing facility of cachaca.
‘There is no industry more modern than this in today's market, allowing for the production of every product derived from sugarcane,’ Everardo Telles, president of the group, says. The derivatives include: cachaca, ethanol, neutral alcohol, and anhydrous alcohol.
With investments of approximately $139 million (€94.1 million) the new unit should increase the company's annual revenue by 20%, and will be responsible for the creation of 360 new jobs in addition to the current 3,200.
‘We strongly believe in the growth of this market in the medium and long terms, and we are applying all of our expertise in investments to accompany this segment,’ Telles adds.
