Ethanol facility scheduled for Malaysia
An ethanol facility that will produce 10,000 tonnes a year is to be built through a joint venture between GlycosBio Asia and Malaysian Bio-Xchell in Johor Bahru, Indonesia.
Glycos Biotechnologies, a biochemical company, will work with biotechnology developer Bio-XCell to fund the plant that will produce ethanol from crude glycerine.
The project is due to be completed by the second quarter of 2013 and Toyo Engineering & Construction will be in charge of the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the project.
Although expected to produce 10,000 tonnes a year at first, the project will be further developed over a number of stages before finally having a capacity rate of 30,000 tonnes a year.
