The European Biodiesel Board (EBB) has sent a letter to the representatives of the European Commission regarding the dumping of Chinese biodiesel on the European market.
The letter was sent to Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Executive Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis, Commissioner Kadri Simson, Commissioner Thierry Breton, Commissioner Janusz Wojciechowski and Commissioner Adina Vălean
The Secretary General of the European Biodiesel Board Xavier Noyon said: “We sent this letter to multiple Cabinets and Directorate Generals in the European Commission as action is urgently needed.
“European elections or not, Chinese imports keep flooding into Europe. We cannot afford to wait and we need to take firm action against the Chinese governmental strategy to destroy the EU’s industrial base in renewables.
“The European biodiesel industry calls for immediate registration of imports from China until the imposition of stiff provisional duties, as allowed by anti-dumping regulations.”
