Be8 takes over operations of biodiesel plant in Brazil
The closing of the transaction, announced in November last year, occurred after the completion of the approval stages of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE).
With the sixth operation in the sector, the company consolidates its leadership with about 15% of participation in national biodiesel production.
"With the sixth unit integrated into our industrial park in Brazil, we are putting into practice a fundamental step in Be8's strategy to expand our national operations, bringing our production closer to the main consumer markets and ensuring more operational and logistical efficiency, with our quality standard,” said Erasmo Carlos Battistella, president of Be8.
Located in a strategic logistics point, the Alto Araguaia unit was acquired from União Agroindustrial, under the name of Fênix, and has a production capacity of 245 million liters of biodiesel per year.
With the incorporation of the plant, Be8 increases its installed capacity to 1.71 billion liters per year, which represents a growth of 16.7% and consolidates a share of approximately 15% of the domestic market.
"Every new investment we make reinforces our commitment to building a more sustainable future. Be8's purpose is to lead the energy transition, helping to decarbonise the transport sector and preserve the planet for the next generations,” added Battistella.
