Amspec Group unveils new biofuels testing lab in Bilbao

Amspec Group has announced the opening of its new Petroleum and Biofuels Testing Laboratory in Bilbao, Spain — a 600 m² facility that marks a major step forward in its commitment to providing high‑quality analytical services to the global energy and fuels sector.
Purpose‑built to meet international standards and the evolving needs of both conventional and renewable fuel markets, the Bilbao laboratory brings advanced analytical technology, modern infrastructure, and highly experienced technical specialists together in one location. Its strategic position near key industrial, port, and refining hubs in Northern Spain ensures efficient sample handling, streamlined logistics, and close collaboration with regional and international clients.
Developed in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025, the laboratory operates exclusively with internationally recognised testing methods and regulatory frameworks.
Amspec Group’s local leadership team — including a branch manager, lab manager, and regional manager — brings more than 60 years of combined industry expertise.
Core testing capabilities include EN 14214 (FAME/Biodiesel), EN 228 (Gasoline), ISO 8217 (Fuel Oil and Marine Fuels/DMA), Full analytical slate for Used Cooking Oil (UCO), Full Naphtha DOW Spec slate and EN 590 (ULSD).
