AFKLMP welcomes Airpharm Logistics to its SAF programme

Airpharm Logistics SAU is the first Spanish forwarder to join the Air France KLM Martinair Cargo (AFKLMP) Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) programme.
SAF is a jet fuel made from renewable sources such as cooking oil and is a sustainable alternative to fossil fuel that reduces carbon emissions by a minimum of 75%.
It is blended with conventional fossil fuel and can be used in all aircraft engines.
“Joining the SAF project led by Air France KLM Martinair Cargo presents an excellent opportunity for Airpharm Logistics. We are proud to be the first forwarder to engage with AFKLMP Cargo, thereby helping to reduce the air cargo industry's carbon footprint.
We reaffirm Airpharm's commitment to looking for solutions that are less polluting and more respectful of the environment and our responsibility towards sustainability is an essential part of our company's strategy. This partnership allows us to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals proposed by the United Nations in the 2030 Agenda,” said CEO Airpharm Logistics, Santiago Martí.
In line with its CSR policy, Airpharm Logistics aims to contribute to a new model of sustainable development.
Filipe Fernandes, Director Spain & Portugal: “We are extremely pleased with the willingness and concrete commitment of our partner Airpharm Logistics to shape our common ambition for a more sustainable future by participating in the AFKLMP Cargo SAF programme. By example, we want to encourage the forwarding community to support these kinds of initiatives. Together we can build a better future.”
The Air France KLM Martinair Cargo SAF programme enables stakeholders in the logistics and airfreight industry to power a percentage of their flights with SAF.
Customers determine their own level of engagement and AFKLMP ensures that their entire investment is used for sourcing SAF.
