ADM and Prairie Pride partner for biodiesel

In the US, Decatur, Illinois-based biofuels producer Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) is to buy a soyabean crushing and biodiesel production plant, located in Deerfield, Missouri.

ADM is acquiring the facility from Prairie Pride, in addition to collaborating with the biodiesel and soya mill producer for the biodiesel side of the business.

'The acquisition of Prairie Pride's soyabean facility and partnership for the biodiesel business were attractive to us because they are aligned with our growth strategy and fit well within our integrated business model,' says Matthew Jansen, president, Global Oilseeds. 'We look forward to working with the 1,000 farmers of Prairie Pride to transform soyabeans into food, feed and fuel products used by consumers and businesses around the world every day.'
