ACA backs Farm to Fly Act
The new legislation aims to accelerate sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) development through existing US Department of Agriculture (USDA) programmes.
The Farm to Fly Act will clarify federal SAF language and encourage collaboration between USDA and private sector alternative energy producers.
Buis said: “The development of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) not only benefits the environment but also opens new markets for farmers.
"The cultivation of these markets is absolutely crucial for the viability of small and medium-sized farming operations, which have been disproportionately affected by the declining farming sector.
“ACA supports the Farm to Fly act, and appreciates the work of House members, as well as Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), Jerry Moran (R-Kan.), Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), and Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), who brought this legislation forward.”
The ACA is formed to be one unified voice for carbon capture pipelines, ethanol producers, landowners, farmers, construction trade workers and citizens that embrace this new energy future for America.
Working together, this alliance will strengthen America’s agricultural economy, ensure a future marketplace for American produced liquid fuel and improve the environment for all.
