Verbio and VNG produce and supply natural gas to Berlin
Verbio (Vereinigte BioEnergie) is continuing to expand its sales of biomethane. VNG (Verbundnetz Gas) is now selling verbiogas, a fuel derived solely from agricultural residue, at all 10 of the natural gas filling stations belonging to VNG-T (VNG-Erdgastankstellen, a wholly owned subsidiary of VNG AG).
Furthermore, VNG has opened 2 natural gas fuelling stations in Berlin, which allow motorists to fill up with clean biomethane.
'Our biomethane is a clean alternative fuel for drivers,' says Dr Klaus-Dieter Barbknecht, who heads both gas sales and HR at VNG. 'This green product can be used in any ratio in all natural gas vehicles without any technical restrictions.'
Verbio now supplies nearly 50 natural gas filling stations throughout Germany, selling nothing but verbiogas. Its CO2 emissions are up to 90% lower than those of conventional fuels.
