V4 call on EU to take interest in biofuels production
The so-called Visegrad Four – Slovakia, Hungary, Czech Republic and Poland – has called on European decision makers to support sustainable biofuels this September.
The four claim to be able to produce and supply the EU with an additional 8 billion litres of biofuel a year between them, with Hungary’s national agricultural chamber believing that amount could account for 1% of the continent’s total transport-aimed fuel needs.
They also added the by-products produced via that amount of biofuel, of GMO and antibiotic free animal feed additives, could replace a fifth of Europe’s soya-based fodder imports.
