US Grains Council appoints director of global ethanol market development

The US Grains Council (USGC) has announced the promotion of Brian Healy to position of director of global ethanol market development, effective 14 August.

In his previous role with the council, Healy served as manager of ethanol export market development, offering expertise in ethanol export strategy development, managing programmes, and overseeing policy engagement for the USGC’s global ethanol programme.

“Brian has been a pillar of the ethanol programme for the past two and a half years as we have ramped up our ethanol promotion efforts around the world,” said Ryan LeGrand, USGC president and CEO. “He was instrumental in planning and executing our past two ethanol summits and is hard at work with his team now in planning the Global Ethanol Summit, scheduled for this October.”

Before joining the council, Healy worked on ethanol issues that the US Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) in the Office of Global Analysis, and in the FAS Agricultural Affairs office in Warsaw, Poland.

In his new position, Healy will assume additional responsibilities for overseeing the execution, implementation and evaluation of the USGC’s global ethanol activities and projects.

“The task at hand is challenging, and Brian is conscious of the urgent need to move more gallons into export markets,” LeGrand added. “Please join me in congratulating Brian as he helps our industry expand the global use and trade of ethanol.”
