US E85 stations reach 2,000

The US’ 2,000th E85 fuelling station opened in the community of Davie, Florida, at the U-Gas retail station on 28 May.

The expansion of the ethanol industry is allowing small communities all across the U.S. to benefit from the new jobs and economic opportunities the production of renewable fuels offers.

‘Increasing the production and use of ethanol in places like Florida is helping provide stability to our motor fuels market against the volatile and costly nature of the world oil market,’ RFA President Bob Dinneen says.

The station is owned by U-Gas, which has brought most of the E85 infrastructure to Florida. The E85 blend can be used in the 8 million flex-fuel vehicles (FFVs) on the road today.
