Talks for construction of three Italian bioethanol plants
The Ministry of Economic Development has signed an agreement with Biochemtex Group, the engineering branch of Mossi & Ghisolfi, for the construction of three new plants.
The three sites, located in southern Italy, in Sulcis, Termini Imerese and Puglia, will produce bioethanol from non-food raw materials.
Each of the projects is expected to have 100 million litres per year in production capacity and will use a combination of wheat straw and energy crops as feedstock.
Meetings have been held with Biochemtex and members of the banking sector. The banking and engineering parties involved aim to create a common approach to further investigate the feasibility of the project.
