Take a look at what’s to come in the November/December issue of Biofuels International

For all of our subscribers out there, the November/December issue of Biofuels International magazine will be on your desks shortly.

Along with analytical pieces from regular contributors Alkol, Schneider Electric and starsupply, we have also added Lootah Biofuels to the mix, who will provide an in-depth look at the Middle Eastern biofuels market.

This issue is stuffed full with interviews, white papers and technical articles from industry heavyweights, such as Gevo, Abengoa, UPM, SPX, hte and Methes Energies, to name just a few.

Gevo has started the coproduction of isobutanol and ethanol at its existing ethanol plant in
Luverne, Minnesota, US, while Californian Springboard Biodiesel has opened its first small-scale biodiesel plant.

With the ambiguity over the US's Renewable Fuel Standard still rumbling on, North America is no closer to obtaining a clear rule that will spur investors on to make long-term commitments.

We talked to a number of US industry insiders on the impact that the delayed RFS has had on buyer confidence and long-term planning. National Biodiesel Board's (NBB) Kaleb Little stresses that the delay of 'the single most important policy affecting the US biodiesel industry' has left the industry in a 'state of turmoil'. Shray Sharma, research analyst at research and consultancy firm Frost & Sullivan, says that this downward price pressure and looming uncertainty has impacted the industry by causing a number of manufacturers in the US to cut back on production in 2014. In agreement, Terry Kulesa, CEO of producer Red Rock Biofuels argues that in order to progress and enjoy growth, the government needs to 'keep the playing field level' by awarding the same tax breaks that it does to the oil and gas sector to the biofuels industry.

The November/December topics have attracted the attention of a variety of biofuels producers, technology suppliers and industry specialists, looking to provide technical contributions and news pieces on the latest goings-on in corn oil, agitation, biodiesel pre-treatment technology, BtL, and jatropha.
