TAE to tap into other biodiesel production methods
Biodiesel producer Todays Alternative Energy (TAE), which currently converts leftover cooking oil and grease into biodiesel, says it is to change its strategy to encompass other methods of biodiesel production.
The company wants to tap further into the biodiesel market, which is expected to grow to $185 billion (€134 billion) by 2021 from $82 billion this year.
TAE says a number of reasons, such as the rise in conventional fuel prices, favourable renewable fuel mandates in the US and a growth in more commercial scale advanced fuel technologies, have given it hope that future biodiesel production will be strong.
Len Amato, CEO of TAE, says: ‘To achieve our mission of being a large scale producer of green fuels, we are determined to be on the cusp of new technologies. We are expanding our strategy beyond our current technology and positioning TAEC to find new ways to produce biofuels feedstock to gain a share of the more than 120% forecasted growth in demand for biofuels.’
