Salesforce reduces carbon emissions using Neste’s renewable diesel

Renewable fuels producer Neste is working with Salesforce to help reduce the carbon emissions of the software company’s annual Dreamforce Conference, held in San Francisco in the US.

Through using Neste MY Renewable Diesel in more than 25 of its shuttle buses during the conference, which runs from 19 to 22 November, Salesforce will be able to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80%, compared to fossil diesel.

“Dreamforce is all about getting inspired and discovering the future of technology that will change the world,” commented Carl Nyberg, executive vice-president of renewable road transportation at Neste. “Therefore, we are excited to partner with Salesforce and offer Neste MY Renewable Diesel to help them reduce the event’s carbon footprint. All good technologies and solutions to tackle climate change are needed, and we are proud to show how Neste MY Renewable Diesel reduces emissions without any modifications to existing engines.”

Dreamforce is the world’s largest software conference, with over 171,000 attendees in addition to 13 million online viewers.

Neste’s renewable diesel is produced from 100% renewable raw materials and is available to public and private fleets in California through authorised distributors.

Last year, the company’s renewable products helped reduce global greenhouse gas emissions by 7.9 million tonnes, the equivalent to removing three million passenger cars from the road for one year.
