Rosetta Green awarded CIRDF grant
Rosetta Green, an Israel-based public company, which develops improved plants traits for the agriculture and biofuel industries, has been awarded a three-year grant from the Canada-Israel Industrial Research and Development Foundation (CIRDF).
The grant will fund a project between Rosetta Green and Canada's Agrisoma Biosciences. Together the two companies will work to develop and improve certain characteristics of canola, such as increased oil content.
Throughout the three-year period, CIRDF will receive C$800,000 (€568,243) million in three payments; Rosetta Green will receive the first once the agreement has been signed. The second instalment will be paid once the first 18-month technical and financial report has been received and approved, while the third and final payment will be received after the final reports have been received and approved.
Steven Fabijanski, Agrisoma's president and CEO, says: 'The aviation industry is demonstrating its desire for biojet fuel with the certification of biofuels on regular commercial flights expected next year. Agrisoma will use its leading edge technology to create new crop varieties engineered for high-value applications such as biojet fuel.'
