New contracts to build ethanol plants in Hungary awarded
Engineering and technology solutions provider China New Energy (CNE) has won two contracts to develop biorefinery projects in Hungary.
The value of the two contracts, signed with Visontai Bioetanol and Helvéciai, is worth €72 million ($97.2 million) over a four year period. CNE has already completed designs for both projects as part of the tendering process.
The Visontai project will aim to convert corn feedstock into 150,000 litres of ethanol a day, while Helvéciai will use the same raw material to make 300,000 litres of ethanol a day. It is hoped at least one of the projects will enter full commercial production by 2016.
