Mazda to use biofuel-powered cars in endurance races
The Super Taikyu Series 2022 will see two of the firm’s vehicles, the Mazda2 Bio concept and the Mazda MX-5, compete using the green fuel.
By participating in the race with vehicles that run on next-generation biodiesel fuel, Mazda wants to conduct a demonstration test of the vehicles.
The company also wants to expand the use of next-generation biodiesel, an alternative option toward achieving carbon neutrality.
The Mazda2 Bio concept car is equipped with a Skyactiv-D diesel engine and uses a 100% biomass-derived next-generation biodiesel fuel called Susteo offered by Euglena Co.
Mazda said it was striving in line with its corporate vision to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
