Maas Companies to auction surplus equipment for Biodiesel One's biofuel plant
Maas Companies will auction surplus biodiesel process equipment for Biodiesel One via a timed online auction ending on 3 December for piecemeal offers and 4 December for entirety offers.
The Biodiesel One plant opened in 2007 and was the second biodiesel plant to be built in Connecticut, US. The plant handled used cooking oil from local restaurants in a batch water wash process to produce ASTM D6751 B100 fuel grade biodiesel. The finished product was sold mostly for heating oil. The equipment is now surplus and will now be sold.
The process equipment is being offered for sale in two manners: equipment to be sold piecemeal or as a package. According to Maas, the equipment will sell whichever way brings the highest dollar. The equipment is also available for purchase prior to auction. In addition, the plant engineer is available for re-installation or trainings for the new owner.
