Location important for new biodiesel plant in US

Biodiesel production has begun at a plant in Connecticut, US this February.

Greenleaf Biofuels says its facility in New Haven will be able to produce up to 10 million gallons of biodiesel a year when operating at full capacity.

New Haven was selected as the plant’s location due to its harbour, plus good access via road and rail transportation too. Its main source of feedstock will be waste vegetable oils taken from businesses between New York City and Boston.

Greenleaf Biofuels selected a fully continuous-feed technology supplied by JatroDiesel to power production.
