Kinder Morgan terminal offers biodiesel

Illinois is traditionally known for mass ethanol production owing to its position in the US corn belt, but now biodiesel availability is on the up thanks to fuel terminal operator Kinder Morgan.

From mid-December Renewable Energy Group’s REG 9000/1 biodiesel will be available for splash blending at Kinder Morgan’s Argo, Illinois, terminal.

REG expects biodiesel from its Illinois facilities, REG Seneca or REG Danville, to be the primary suppliers for the new terminal location. Every lot of REG 9000 biodiesel meets or exceeds industry ASTM D 6751 for B100 biodiesel quality.

Multiple biodiesel pricing options are available for REG customers through the Kinder Morgan terminal.

‘Illinois petroleum distributors blend more biodiesel than any other state due to the B11 incentive,’ explains Jon Scharingson, REG’s director of marketing. ‘This new terminal location combines the quality of REG 9000 biodiesel, the industry experience of REG and the convenience of the Chicago terminal site.’

Petroleum distributors may pick up REG 9000 biodiesel 24/7 at the terminal located at 8500 West 68th Street Argo, Illinois after setting up a Kinder Morgan account.

Every load of REG 9000 biodiesel purchased comes with a Certificate of Analysis outlining product quality. REG’s network of biodiesel manufacturing facilities include on-site laboratory to ensure quality throughout the biodiesel supply chain.
