Karlstad home to first storage tank facility for aviation biofuel
Karlstad Airport, Sweden, has become the first airport in Europe to install a fixed storage tank facility for aviation biofuel.
The facility officially opened on 26 June and the first regular commercial flight in Sweden took off the same day.
From the start of 2015, biofuels will be available to all aircraft departing from Karlstad Airport.
'This facility is the first stationary storage tank for aviation biofuel in Europe and possibly even the world,' says Thorbjörn Larsson, vice president of Statoil Fuel & Retail Aviation.
