Itochu invests in biodiesel plant

A US-based biodiesel production plant has received investment from Itochu Enex Co. (Enex) and Itochu.

The 50 million gallon per year facility is being developed by Flint Hills Resources Renewables and biodiesel process technology company Benefuel in Beatrice, Nebraska.

The projected production volume of this facility alone corresponds to approximately 5% of the current biodiesel production in the US.
