INEOS New Planet BioEnergy facility delayed

Currently under construction in Indian River County, Florida, US, construction on the INEOS New Planet BioEnergy plant is now scheduled to finish 'by this period of time next year' instead of April 2012, according to the company's president David King.

The reason for the delay has been attributed to the time it took to evaluate and hire construction firm AMEC back in 2010.

INEOS New Planet BioEnergy is a joint venture between California-based New Planet Energy and chemical company INEOS.

When the facility is completed, it will convert 150,000 tonnes a year of wood waste into 8 million gallons of ethanol and 6MW of renewable power.
