Haiti’s first biofuel project steps up

Illinois Sustainable Technology Centre (ISTC) along with non-for-profit business, Jatropha Pepinyè, has been working on achieving a consistent biofuel production method in Haiti.

Jatropha Pepinyè has developed this production method and thought of adequate ways to obtain indigenous Jatropha curcasa bushes. The beans in the pine have a high level of bio-oils in seed types and so, a pre-treatment device to break the beans for optimum liquid removal is included.

The pilot plant can make an order for 40 gallons of biodiesel.
