Greentomatocars offers green versatile fleet
Environmentally conscious London-based car-hire group greentomatocars has added biofuel-powered vehicles to its existing 200-strong fleet.
The company, which launched five and a half years ago, utilises mainly Toyota Prius'. However, customer feedback highlighted the need for different vehicles to provide a more luxurious experience and transport larger groups of people.
With this in mind, greentomatocars has introduced 14 new biodiesel-powered 8-passenger MPVs and six executive vehicles. Greentomatocars has been trialling the Citroen C6 and the Citroen Combi Dispatch over the past few months to satisfy customer demand and has received a positive response.
The biodiesel used to power these new vehicles comes from waste vegetable oil collected locally. B100 can reduce CO2 emissions by 60-90% but greentomatocars will start out running its fleet on B30. This biodiesel blend has the potential to reduce carbon emissions by a minimum of 20%.
