Gavilon, Heron Lake BioEnergy's agreement takes effect
In the US, Gavilon, a commodity management company, and Heron Lake BioEnergy, a Minnesota-based ethanol plant, entered into an agreement which took effect on 1 September.
Under the agreement, Gavilon supplies the plant with corn for the production of ethanol. It also markets the ethanol and DDGs produced at the plant.
Heron Lake BioEnergy manufactures around 50 million gallons a year of ethanol from 18 million bushels of corn, all of which will be supplied by Gavilon. Gavilon will market this ethanol, as well as the 160,000 tonnes of DDGs produced at the plant each year.
