Ethanol movement ‘robust’ in Tampa, US
The Tampa Port Authority has revealed the Tampa Gateway Rail has moved almost 4 million barrels of ethanol during its first year in operation.
The project, which cost $11 million (€8.1 million) and stretches two miles, moves product from ships to railroad tank cars while serving both the port’s cargo container facility and a Kinder Morgan Energy storage tank facility.
The rail facility can unload trains up to 96 cars at one time and managed to get through 5,705 since opening last November.
