Ethanol leaks from crashed tanker truck

A crash in Dayton, Ohio left ethanol leaking out of a tanker truck at around 2.25pm.

The fuel left inside the overturned tanker was accessed later that evening by fire fighters and transferred to an empty tanker truck.

Between 400-500 gallons of ethanol was captured during the clean-up operation, however it is believed that some of the fuel entered the city's sewer system.

The incident happened when the truck driver attempted a left-turn at high speed, causing the vehicle to overturn. The driver sustained minor injuries.

Stanley Avenue was closed after the accident, but reopened at about 10.45pm.
