ETH to develop sugarcane plantation
With a goal to produce 3 billion litres of ethanol in the 2012/2013 crop year, biofuels company ETH Bioenergia of Brazil is looking to expand its sugarcane plantation by 100,000 hectares.
In addition to the 3 billion litres of ethanol, ETH plans to generate 2,700GWh of renewable power.
The company has already started building its Agua Emendada ethanol plant, located in Perolandia, in the state of Goias. When the plant comes online in November 2011, it will produce 360 million litres of ethanol and 380GWh each year.
