Enervation works to bring Algona plant up to scratch
New York, US-based Enervation is to acquire the Algona biodiesel plant from the bank, following months of negotiations.
The plant in question was constructed back in 2007 but never became operational. Now a large amount of work is needed before the plant can begin running at its 60 million gallon-a-year production capacity.
As Enervation examines the existing permits and licenses, the engineers work to finalise plans in order to bring the plant up to Enervation's standards and specifications.
Under the plan Enervation is also looking to enhance the production facility with additional workings in the hope that this will increase the income of the plant.
As Paul Tantillo, one of the founders of Enervation, explains: 'While the plant as it stands cannot produce positive cash flows, we have a strategic plan for the Algona location that enables the facility to thrive and to fulfil its promise to the community for the jobs so sorely needed in this area.'
