Endicott Biofuels and Holly Corporation partner

In the US, biodiesel firm Endicott Biofuels and Holly Biofuels, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dallas-based petroleum refiner Holly Corporation, have formed Sabine Biofuels – a joint venture for a biorefinery currently under construction in Port Arthur, Texas.

The collaboration will see Sabine Biofuels supply technology to the 30 million gallon-a-year biorefinery that will convert inedible, renewable fats or oils into biodiesel.

'This joint venture will assist Holly in meeting its biofuel obligations under the federal Renewable Fuel Standard,' says George Damiris, senior vice president for supply at marketing of Holly.

David Robinson, CEO of Endicott Biofuels, comments: 'We are extremely pleased to join forced with Holly on this opportunity. Both of our companies understand the value of finding renewable economic sources of transportation fuel to supplement traditional petroleum sources.'
