E85 reaches western Canada

Vancouver, Canada-based Arcade Station has become the first filling station in the region to sell E85 fuel – an ethanol-petrol blend comprising 85% ethanol.

The site now sells regular and diesel fuel in addition to E85.

Arcade Station is a member of the Canadian Renewable Fuels Association (CRFA). 'Canadian consumers need and deserve more choices at the fuel pump,' says CRFA president Scott Thurlow. 'There is no cheaper and cleaner source of octane than ethanol. High ethanol blends of petrol, like E85, deliver the increased level of octane required to drive the smaller, high-performance engines consumers want while reducing harmful tailpipe emissions from our air.'

Amir Nazary, VP of engineering for Arcade Station, adds: 'Until now, owners with flex fuel modified vehicles drove north of Seattle, Washington to purchase E85, so the level of enthusiasm for Arcade Station and our E85 is tremendous.'
