Delta BioFuels facility to be turned into biorefinery
Elevance Renewable Sciences, a renewable specialty chemicals maker, has acquired the Delta BioFuels facility in Adams County, Mississippi, in the US.
The company plans to invest $225 million (€154 million) into the facility, converting it into a biorefinery and creating 165 full-time jobs over the next five years. During the expansion process, 300 construction jobs will also be created.
The current 800,000 square foot refinery will be expanded throughout multiple stages with help from a $25 million loan from the Mississippi Industry Incentive Financing Revolving Fund.
‘We are pleased to be coming to southwest Mississippi to build our first North American manufacturing facility. We plan on deploying Elevance’s innovative technology here to bring competitive manufacturing and high-value jobs back to the United States,’ says K’Lynne Johnson, CEO of Elevance.
